Well finally. The range hood is in place and operational, after months of struggle, endless modifications, and repair work in the attic. What can I say? It looks nice, lights up the area well, runs quietly but effectively, and I DON"T HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT ANYMORE.
Cause for celebration, right there.
Trick or treat went okay in our neighborhood this year--we bought too much candy, but adjusted the handouts accordingly, so as to dispose of at least 80%. I really can't complain this year, since most everyone, including the older kids, was polite, friendly, in costume, and well-behaved.
W and T walked over from their house, accompanied by their two chihuahuas, sporting the cutest little costumes. The female was dressed as a bumblebee, and the male had a cunning disguise, indeed--he was a yellow submarine!
Very cute, and having them come by helped pass the time. Spouse actually took the first hour, since I was getting dinner assembled and in the oven (pot-roast)and wrapping up the weekly laundry. And the weather was lovely, which also made it less of an ordeal.
Reading: Hobby--"Marjorie's Maytime" (1911) GYPSIES! What series of the period would be complete without an encounter with a stereotypical band of gypies?
