here's a downward spiral for ya
August 04,, 2010

I moved to a different office in May, and it was lovely. For two weeks. The it got hot outside, they cranked up the blowers and the air conditioning, and the icy drafts began buffeting me from two different directions. But it was still pretty great to be there, compared to my old location.

Then they filled the office down the hall with geeks, and it got very loud. Very constantly loud. Not quite as great, but still better than the old office.

Then we got an executive in the department with ticky-tappy fingernails and an affinity for extremely stinky desk-lunches, and the slide continued downward.

Now, with the addition of more staff in my area, we have an influx of scent addicts, with their constant applications of lotions and sprays creating a hideous funk that has me snorting, sneezing, wheezing and watering.

Annnnd....
I'm officially back in hell.

Reading: Hobby--Patty's Social Season (1913), by Carolyn Wells
Assisted by Patty's common sense and expeditious judgment, they accomplished a great deal that morning, and returned home with their [Christmas]lists considerably shortened.

"It does seem funny," said Patty, that same afternoon, "to be tying up these things almost two weeks ahead of time. But with all the newspapers and magazines urging you to do your shopping early, and send off your parcels early, you can't really do otherwise."
