There it is--the annual celebration of Thanksgiving as performed by the whyme household. Not bad--we had a budget of up to $150.00 to get it all, and we came in with all of it for under $120.00, which was easier for us to bear. The $150 would have been pushing it, I'm afraid.

Spouse and I started at the Piggly Wiggy on Friday night, because they had great prices on celery and cranberry sauce. We did the bulk of the shopping on Saturday morning, running up to Racine in order to hit Wally's, Aldi, and the produce market.

We had the trunk and backseat of the GP filled when we finished, and came back into town to drop it at the food pantry. We had to unload before we could do our own shopping, so we ended up going back to Racine for that. By the time we'd finished, we were pooped, and Spouse had to take an afternoon nap. There was no way you could have gotten either one of us back into a store yesterday--we had simply had it.

But all in a good cause. Although we donate all through the year, this is the biggie. And for us, it simply wouldn't be Thanksgiving if we didn't. This defines our holiday--if we have enough in our lives to share, then we have enough, and we are thankful.
