the postal code is your friend. learn it, know it, use it.

I didnt get a chance to post yesterday, after all. Id planned on doing it in the afternoon, since I had to go straight home from work and start washing Spouses uniforms for his trip. But he came home about 1:30; I guess they let him go early so he could TCB before leaving town. So the afternoon ended up being about running errands and doing wash instead of writing.
Last night, we went to Chops for dinner, and it was lovely. Black Opal chardonnay for an aperitif, and I had the house salad and the speciala 6 oz strip/4 oz salmon fillet combo, with a really great Dijon/horseradish sauce, and sauted asparagus. Yummmmm. Spouse had the French onion soup to start, and a small filet and the glazed carrots. We really enjoyed it; the owner stopped by for a chat, the servers are coming along nicely, and they had a pianist playing Gershwin, Porter, and other standards with a tinkly, lounge style. Quite pleasant.
Since I had to work this morning, and he was flying out to OKC, we made it an early night.

I got up early this morning, and putzed around a little before getting ready for work. Had coffee, sorted out my meds for the week, fed and watered the dog. I left for the office right after seeing Spouse off, and got there in plenty of time to hit the treadmill in the gym before I had to start at eight. Had a quick but nice 15 minute workout, going about a third of a mile and burning 92 calories. Got my blood flowing, anyway.
Work was validation for an implementation, very straightforward but not entirely without bumps. Simple and quick to fix and re-test, though. Since today is counting as comp time for next Friday, I had to cover the whole morningotherwise I would have been in and out in an hour.
So I worked on some documents for my next project, which will not be straightforward at all. And then I worked out again before I left. My total was 1.25 miles, and 196 calories.

I stopped at Woodys on the way home to pick up the diet supplies for the week. Yeah, it was the usual Saturday descent into hell, but I was able to get in and out in about 20 minutes. All I could get for Slim-Fast bars were the Optima version, though. 40% less sugar than the regulars, but much (gag) sweeter, because they have malitol instead. They taste like ass.

When I got home, I found that some idiot from the anti-casino pressure group had put a handbill in the mailbox. That infuriated me, so I whizzed off an email to them quoting postal code and threatening to report them to the local postmasters. Who I mentioned by name, because Im a smart bitch. I hope they get the point. Because I WILL report them. And they will have to pay actual postage, per the law. I have known this law since I was EIGHT, for Criminys sake. It was one of the first things they taught you when you got a paper route. You cant put the paper in the mailbox, or even in the little paper rack some boxes have for that purpose. Il-Leg-Al!
Asshats.

Now, Im going to finish my last library book, which I didnt return yet even though it is due, so I can find out whodunit. And then return it.

Reading: Hunting the Witch", by Ellen Hart

Listening: XM Comedy and the E! Channel.

Beading: Still havent finished the eyeglass-hanger necklace.
