doing the impossible for a living

Every week, it gets more surreal at work. It used to make me crazy, but nowadays it just makes me tired. So...after I came back from my funeral leave this week, here is what I was tasked with:
Using a tool with which I am unfamiliar, I had to document a process I've never seen, for a client (whose unique business I don't understand) of a company I don't actually work for. The sad part is--I actually did it.
